Today's blog I'll be sharing some tips about the most common mistake for beginners in makeup application. The topic is the difference between setting and finshing spray!
Setting spray and finishing spray are both used in makeup application, but they serve different purposes:
1. Setting Spray:
- Purpose: Setting spray is primarily used to set and lock your makeup in place. It helps makeup withstand factors like humidity, heat, and sweat, ensuring your look lasts longer throughout the day.
- Application: You typically apply setting spray after you've finished your entire makeup routine, including foundation, eyeshadow, blush, etc.
- Effect: Setting spray creates a protective layer over your makeup, preventing it from smudging, creasing, or fading. It often has a matte or semi-matte finish.
2. Finishing Spray:
- Purpose: Finishing spray is used to give your makeup a final touch and enhance its overall appearance. It can add a subtle glow or dewy finish to your skin.
- Application: You apply finishing spray at the end of your makeup routine, just before you step out. It's like the finishing touch to your look.
- Effect: Finishing sprays can provide a subtle sheen or radiance to your skin, giving it a more natural, healthy glow. Some may also have skincare benefits, like hydrating or refreshing ingredients.
In summary, setting spray is primarily about makeup longevity, while finishing spray is more about enhancing the final look and sometimes adding a subtle glow. Depending on your makeup goals and skin type, you can choose to use one, the other, or both in your routine.
Hopefully, todays tip helped you weather you're an MUA or learning just for you're own everyday makeup application!
Much love XOXO
